Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side BD

On his Twitter feed, Seth McFarlane has informed that 'Something Something Something Dark Side' (the 'Family Guy' spoof of 'The Empire Strikes Back' and sequel to 'Blue Harvest') will be released on Blu-ray on December 22, day-and-date with the DVD. No release details are available at this time, but the title is already up for preorder.

Mamma Mia! Gift Set Announced for Blu-ray

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will re-release the popular musical 'Mamma Mia!' as a Blu-ray gift set on November 10th, day-and-date with the DVD Gift Set. When released, the 'Mamma Mia! The Movie - Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! More Blu-ray Gift Set' will feature the same disc as the previous Blu-ray release packaged with a music CD soundtrack and 32-page collectible book.

The Proposal Announced for Blu-ray

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds comedy 'The Proposal' to Blu-ray on October 13th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Coming in both two and single disc releases (the two-disc version including a digital copy), video will be presented in 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Antichrist Blu-ray Arrives in the UK in November

In an early announcement to retailers, it has been revealed that Artificial Eye is set to release Lars von Trier's shocking and controversial movie, 'Antichrist', uncut, on Blu-ray on November 23, day-and-date with the DVD. No information on specifications, special features or region encoding has been revealed at this time.

After the first alleged spy pics appeared on the Internet in May, rumors have been rife about the imminent launch of a slim PlayStation 3. Now, adding fuel to the fire, Amazon Germany has put up the product on its website. Granted, this is merely a placeholder without any price or product details, but it is relevant, especially barely a month before major fairs such as IFA, CEDIA and the Tokyo Game Show.

Warner Announces Observe and Report Blu-ray

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Seth Rogen film 'Observe and Report' to Blu-ray on September 22nd, day-and-date with the DVD release. This comedy will be presented in 2.40:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Christmas Vacation UCE Blu-ray Delayed One Week

Warner Home Video has announced that they have delayed the Blu-ray release of 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: Ultimate Collector's Edition' by one week to November 3rd. No reason was given for the delay, and no technical specs or special features have been changed.

Paramount Gives Dance Flick BD a Headstart

Paramount Home Entertainment, recognizing Blu-ray as a growing segment of the business, has announced that it will release 'Dance Flick' on an unrated BD on September 8, four to eight weeks ahead of the DVD release. Special features will include outtakes, deleted scenes and an alternate ending. The DVD will initially only be available for the rental channel, in a barebones disc.
